Garlic bread filled with Korean or Japanese pastry style cheese cream, aka Garlic Cheese Bread, has a savory and sweet taste that makes you addicted.
You can try making it yourself (while ngabuburit you can too!), because this bread can be used as a practical sahur menu, or as a boost after breaking the fast. After Ramadan ends, this bread is suitable for the breakfast menu.
Bread ingredients:
250 gr high protein wheat flour
30 gr granulated sugar
4 grams instant yeast
110 ml liquid milk
1 egg
½ tsp salt
20 g unsalted butter
Filling ingredients, mix well; put in a triangular bag:
200 g cream cheese
30 g granulated sugar
50 ml whipped cream
Glaze ingredients, mix well:
130 g unsalted butter, melted
50 g garlic, finely chopped
1 egg
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp dried parsley
How to make:
- Mix sugar flour and yeast. Add milk, eggs and salt, stir and knead the dough until smooth or until the surface of the dough is flat.
- Shape the dough into rounds. Place in a container, cover with sticky plastic. Leave in a place until the dough doubles in size (1 hour).
- Deflate the dough. Knead again for 2 minutes. Divide the dough into 4 parts, shape into rounds. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Leave it again for 30 minutes.
- Bake the dough in a hot oven at 180º C until cooked (15-20 minutes). Take it out. Leave it until it's not hot.
- Cut the bread into 6 pieces without cutting off the bottom. Spray the filling mixture between each slice of bread.
- Drizzle the bread with glaze until it wets the entire surface of the bread. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a hot oven at 160º C until the bread is brown (± 10 minutes). Take it out.
- Serve while warm
